Civil Ceremonies

The Belmont is licensed for civil ceremonies and can arrange anything from small intimate receptions to those for 120 guests or more.  We can also offer a special Asian wedding package, just ask for details.

The following rooms at The Belmont have been licensed for civil ceremonies:

  • Rose Room which holds 60-120 guests
  • May Room which holds 30-50 guests
  • Rowan Room which holds 30-50 guests
  • Cherry Restaurant which holds 20-40 guests
  • Crawford/Edwin Rooms which hold 4-25 guests

As soon as you have made provisional arrangements for your wedding ceremony at The Belmont, you should contact the Superintendent Registrar, Leicester City Council, Registration Service, Town Hall, Town Hall Square, Leicester LE1 9BG  Telephone 0845 0450901.  Without the presence of the Superintendent Registrar and a Registrar, there can be no marriage or civil ceremony and any arrangements made with the hotel depend entirely on their availability.

It is therefore essential that the couple makes a booking with the Superintendent Registrar for attendance at the proposed marriage.  Bookings with the Superintendent Registrar can be made up to two years prior to the marriage or civil ceremony date itself.
